We all enter the workforce desiring high paying careers. Some people do make a lot of money, and others don’t. If you want to make more money in your job, following these simple steps will help you get there. They are all easy to understand, but some may be more work than others. Ultimately, the harder you work, the more money you make.

A college education is more important to a well-paying career than it has ever been. If you don’t go to college, you’ll be severely handicapped on how far you can go. On the other hand, just simply getting a college education and a degree is not enough to make more money. You have to do well in school and choose a good career. You should also look for internships in your desired career and work towards the job. Don’t just learn, learn how to use what you’ve learned.

Many people already have a job, and in order to make more money they must move up in their career. Work hard and show your boss that you can do more than you’re doing currently. Getting promotions and raises should be your ultimate goal. You may even decide that you want to branch off and start your own business. Getting the experience at your current job is a great way to start.

This brings us to another great money making idea which is to start your own business. Many people see this as daunting and difficult, but you can be successful with your own business. You don’t have to go with the simple model of a dry cleaner or a drugstore. You can come up with some sort of invention, start a new service, or do anything you find that has a high demand. If people want it, they’ll pay for. It is your job to find what they want and to get them to pay as much for it as possible without pushing ethical boundaries.

Insurance Careers and Opportunity’s. The Best Kept Secret in Today’s Economy.

The insurance business is recession proof. People buy in good times, but buy more in bad times as they know what it can be like if they leave their family behind with no money. The insurance industry can provide many with stable careers in a bad economy.

As an insurance mentor with over 30 years of selling and marketing experience, I can tell that one of the most over looked career opportunities today is the insurance industry. Selling life insurance is a fantastic opportunity, but it does not fit everyone.

Teachers, educators and communication specialist are some of the best people to come into the life insurance selling profession. Why? Because our job as a life insurance sales person is to communicate ideas to people, as well as educate them. Plus you want to be an extrovert and not an introvert. Type A would be good also.

One of my best producers, a few years back was a young man who just graduated college with a communication degree. I never even knew they had some thing like that. But he just took off gang busters and was the top producer in our agency for a number of years and then he went on to management.

The great thing about this career is a person can build a fantastic career with very little or no up front capital requirement, and create a substantial income.

They can expand into management and even move on to corporate.

The life insurance industry has made it tougher for part-time people and the fly by nighters over the last 10 years. The Insurance agent’s sales force has shrunk to about 1/2 of what it use to be because of a more positive approach as to who the insurance companies are hiring today.

What does this mean to a new person? Quite simply, there is a bigger piece of the pie for you and less competition. There is more opportunity to build solid and stable careers in a bad economy with the insurance industry.

Today’s insurance professional enjoys the opportunity to work with banks, CPA’s, attorneys and many others to assist in their client’s welfare.

It is a very professional business.

Insurance professionals can work in a number of areas such as:

..Selling life insurance

..Selling Property and casualty Insurance

..Selling Medicare supplements

..Selling Annuities and annuity marketing

..Selling Business insurance

..Selling Disability insurance

..Selling Health Insurance

And in each of these career fields a person can specialize in what we call specific target marketing such as:

..Small business insurance

..Mortgage term life insurance

..Estate planning

..Structured settlements

..Plus many more specialty areas.

Entry level finance jobs are not the easiest jobs to find partly because of the economy. In this economy finding entry level finance jobs can be harder than it looks because of how many people are competing for those entry level jobs.

If you look in the classifieds or even on job boards around the country, you might have a hard time finding jobs for entry level finance. Before the economy crashed as hard as it did accounting, jobs were easy to find. The main reason that accounting jobs were so easy to find was because fewer people were working in the finance field, including accounting or auditing.

Now that the economy has crashed, more people are seeking career advice so that they can find new jobs in more stable careers. With more people seeking career advice, more people are drifting towards the finance fields because of how stable accounting and finance are. No matter how bad the economy is people and businesses still need auditors, accountants and other members of the finance field. To help make this transition people are seeking entry level finance jobs to help jump start their career in business.

Another reason that entry level finance jobs are so hard to find in this economy is because of how many graduates there are. Once people start graduating from college they are looking for work, these graduates combined with people who have been laid off, so finding jobs can get tougher. Normally college graduates do not have to worry about too much competition because most people who have previously graduated already have secure jobs. With the economy going downwards people who had stable employment have been laid off so they are looking for work.

Another factor is that people with years of experience in the accounting or finance field who are looking for work are accepting jobs that they would not normally accept. What this means is that college graduates, recent graduates and experienced business professionals are now competing for the same job openings just so they can have a job. With this, many people competing for the entry level jobs it makes them even harder to find. Businesses that are getting applications from experienced accountants or finance experts are hiring the experienced people over the college graduates for the entry level positions.

Another reason that entry level finance jobs are hard to find is because of the sheer number of people who are unemployed. For every position that is available, you will find about five unemployed workers, so sometimes it falls down to the early bird gets the job. It used to be that the entry level positions were among the last to go because the pay is not the best nor are the benefits, but people’s views on entry level jobs today are its better than being unemployed, so they take whatever they can get.

This economy has allowed employers to be picker about what they will accept for entry level finance jobs, which also makes them harder to find. Recent college graduates will not have 5 years experience or even one year experience in the finance field. When employers raise the minimum requirements on entry level jobs this means fewer people can qualify for the jobs, and can often move the position from entry level to experience based.
